Hey i Absolutely love your pedal car. I think it is so great that you are building what you want. I am a 14 year old and am wanting to build a kart like this and am wondering if i could get the plans to your kart or if you know where i could get some plans for a kart like this.
Thanks for your time,
Unfortunately, there are no plans or kits for any of the vehicles built by FBUC clubs. Projects are created by improv from found and machined parts as needed per project. Part of the reason for these projects is to see what can be done with what’s lying around. There’s not much thinking stuff out too much let alone drawing up plans to replicate projects.
There is one book that explains a wide range of basic to intermediate concepts and materials that any builder, green or seasoned, would definitely find useful for most pedal projects: Atomic Zombie (Amazon).
These projects do require learning to weld in some form. Mig welding is easy to learn and not very expensive to buy a cheap system. But, you still need lots of other tools and a space to work that can get dirty with metal bits and powder. Lots of major projects are built in backyards so it’s not too hard to get started.
It’s about experimenting and seeing where your inspiration goes. Prepare to fail a lot because that’s where the fun is as much as the successes. Best of luck!
